09: Richard Claremont

Richard is an artist based on the South Coast and has a Bachelor of Arts from the Sydney College of the Arts
His career started to take off a couple of years ago when he became more intentional with his art practice
The biggest struggle that creative professionals face is the expectation to produce high quality work on a consistent basis
He is still working on honing his skills and says that it would take 10,000+ hours to become an expert
There is a time to pause, reflect and refine
He also talked about asymmetry and balance as composition for his painting
We are hardwired to tell stories and that is a useful entry point to engage people which Richard incorporates with his work
When people get to know your story, they start to trust you and for artists they get to buy your art as well
